Job Description

Plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. Candidate will be based out of Edwards AFB, CA and will work alongside U.S. Government and Contractor personnel.


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Must have 7 years of relevant experience - aircraft maintenance and operations fields of work. Will consider 3 years with Bachelor's Degree; or 1 year of experience with Master’s Degree.

  • Understanding and experience in all facets of aircraft flight and maintenance operations.

  • Proficiency and experience with maintenance database systems, such as IMDS, MES, ALIS, G081, FMT, etc.

  • Must be able to obtain, or possess an in-scope, active DoD Secret Clearance with background investigation completed within last five years; with ability to maintain. Clearance required to start.

  • Ability to obtain Program Access within 365 days of submission. Program Access required to start.

  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.

  • Proficiency at reading and interpreting CAD models, engineering documents, COTS manuals, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, etc.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

  • Able to build effective teams.

  • Able to work alone, with minimal supervision.

  • Experience with public speaking and presenting information to leadership upon request.

  • Able to perform work in closed space during specified work hours.

  • Ability to change physical locations based upon need (including physical ability to travel).

  • Able to work in both external and internal environmental conditions.

  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of aircraft maintenance and operations experience.

  • Experience in maintaining or supporting aircraft platforms.

  • Familiar with process development and implementation.

  • Familiar with reliability and maintainability processes and procedures.

  • Working knowledge using information systems, such as IMDS, MES, G081, FMT, etc.

  • Experience with Team Center, production, and engineering programs.

  • Experience briefing upper levels of management.

Salary Range: $70,200 USD - $105,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
