Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineering Technician with a focus on 
•    Server Rack based hardware build-up
•    Cable installation 
•    Keyboard Video Mouse Audio (KVMA) installation
•    Engineering Documentation 
The selected candidate will be joining our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be 100% onsite and located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
 
Essential Functions:
The selected candidate will work with team mates to:
Receive bare-metal servers, switches, routers, firewalls etc and move or store them in accordance with company property handling guidelines
Configure IT hardware such as switches, routers, firewalls, Keyboard Video Mouse Audio (KVMA) and PCOIP devices
Interpret, and markup/redline, and audit released engineering procedures and drawings. 
Install system interconnect cabling for communications, audio, networking, and serial interfaces
Participate in offsite system integration activities (10-20% travel)
Work closely with Engineers and other Technicians in a production environment where planning, coordination, communication, and documentation skills are required.


Basic Qualifications: 
•    Minimum of 6 years of related experience in all of the following areas

  • Experience in datacenter operations
  • Installation of IT equipment into server racks
  • Installation of ancillary cards, cables, as required 
  • Cabling of systems to released engineering
  •  Labelling of systems to released engineering

•    Able to lift equipment up to 50 pounds to support equipment installations
•    Ability to travel 20% during surge integration efforts
•    Active DoD Secret Clearance 
•    Ability to gain PAR
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Experience in deploying Solaris, Windows, VmWare, RHEL, ESXi.
•    Familiarity with Jira, confluence, and the Atlassian software suite
•    Experience with Thinklogical KVMA equipment and video switches
•    Comptia Sec+ Certification
•    Active TS Clearance
•    Active PAR
 


Salary Range: $70,700 USD - $117,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
