Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Configuration Analyst/ Principal Configuration Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Digital Pathfinder is a collaborative engineering effort with Scaled Composites to design, build, and test an aircraft with a digital twin demonstrating complete digital thread development.  The aircraft is based on the Scaled Composites’ Model 401 and the effort includes the design and build of a newly developed wing, the addition of a NG Mission Systems payload and associated interfaces with final assembly in 2024 to support the subsequent flight demonstration program.

The objective of Digital Pathfinder is delivery of this capability using established processes and cross-sector digital engineering tools which demonstrate expected improvements in cost, schedule and first-time quality.

This position is responsible for the planning and coordinating preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. Support program configuration and data management requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Configuration Analyst: Master’s degree and 4 years of professional work experience in DoD configuration and/or data management; a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of professional as a configuration analyst, an Associate's degree with 8 years, OR 10 years of professional work experience in a professional work experience in a DoD configuration and/or data management may be considered in lieu of degree requirement

 Sr. Principal Configuration Analyst: Masters with 8 years of professional work experience in DoD configuration and/or data management, a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years, an Associate's degree with 12 years, OR a total of 14 years of professional work experience in a DoD configuration and/or data management may be considered in lieu of degree requirement

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, not required to start

• PLM experience and familiar with executing CMDM in accordance with NG procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent organizational skills to include the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

• Understanding of configuration management principles / best practices to include management of contract and supplier data


Salary Range: $72,400 USD - $108,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $89,800 USD - $134,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
