Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a level 2 or a level 3 Airframe and Powerplant Technician based in Warner Robins.

The candidate will be responsible for the following: Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all aircraft systems. Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions.

Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of all aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and USAF regulations.

Specific Description:

  • Execute line-maintenance/flight operations support for E-8/B707-300C aircraft including all electrical & mechanical troubleshooting, fault isolation & repair, parts replacement, line repairable unit (LRU) replacement, calibration tasks, testing, engine repairs and/or replacements & proper documentation in aircraft forms

  • Conduct maintenance of aircraft in line with USAF ground maintenance procedures & in compliance with associated airworthiness approvals.

  • Conduct flight line (“O” and “I” level) maintenance of aircraft using commercial and USAF ground maintenance procedures.

  • Service aircraft, perform end-of-runway, postflight, preflight, thru-flight, & phase inspections. Advise on problems maintaining, servicing, & inspecting aircraft & related aerospace equipment. Use technical data to diagnose & solve maintenance problems on aircraft systems

  • Interpret & advise on maintenance procedures & policies to repair aircraft & related equipment. Troubleshoot & maintain aircraft structures, systems, components, & related equipment. Remove & install aircraft components conducting functional tests of repaired components & systems.

  • Inspect aircraft structures, systems, components & related systems.

  • Review maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems & historical reports to ensure complete documentation.

This requestion may be filled as either a level 2 or a level 3 Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic

Basic Qualifications Level 2

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • 2 years of Airframe and Powerplant aircraft maintenance experience

Basic Qualifications Level 3

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • 5 years of Airframe and Powerplant aircraft maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 years’ experience on E-8 Joint STARS or B707, single aisle, military variants (E-3, E-6, C-135, P-8)

  • FAA A&P Certification


Salary Range: $59,500 USD - $99,100 USD
Salary Range 2: $70,500 USD - $117,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
