Controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements. Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to meet marketing and financial objectives. Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions. Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives. Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position.

Job Attributes/Responsibilities

The Material Control Supervisor shall be thoroughly familiar with the peculiarities of USN/USAF logistics support procedures used to accomplish material requirements objectives.

Manage the supply organization. Formulate policies, concepts, and procedures for effective aviation supply support.

Coordinate with other Navy F-5 sites in management of Government Furnished Material (GFM).

Receive, inspect, process, store, issue, turn in and exercise control over all incoming supplies at the warehouse and at the squadron to accomplish O/I/D level maintenance at the site.

Conduct inventories, dispose of excess material, research discrepancies, and process adjustments, as necessary, on items managed.

Coordinate with customer before disposing or removing what is considered excess material.

Operate automated equipment, special purpose government vehicles, and material handling equipment.

Coordinate and expedite the flow of material, parts, and assemblies supporting maintenance requirements in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Research and take action on Not In Stock (NIS) components to expedite fulfillment.

Review and evaluate all purchase requests for complete and accurate information.

Track progress of materials/purchase requests to completion.

Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of 14 years’ experience in supply (within the last 15 years) with three of the 10 years in a supervisory capacity. Would consider an applicant of 10 years experience with a Bachelor's Degree.

Supply experience gained shall be in activities such as a squadron, military base, or depot, or as an item manager is acceptable.

Demonstrated experience with USN/USAF logistics support procedures used to accomplish material requirements objectives. Shall have three years’ experience with the NALCOMIS/OOMA database.

Experience in working with a staff covered by a union collective bargaining agreement

A clearance isn't required to start but must be able to obtain a Secret Level Clearance within a reasonable amount of time.


Salary Range: $81,600 USD - $122,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
