Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Administrative Assistant to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation Organization. This position will be in Edwards AFB.


The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. This role is a vital member of the leadership team, which by nature of the position involves high-level contacts and exposure to sensitive programs, new business, personnel, and technical information necessitating considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment.


Provides direct support to the Director of Ground and Flight Test and multiple level 3 managers.
Performs office functions, including (but not limited to): setting up and maintaining files; arranging meetings and conferences; maintaining supplies; managing Outlook calendars; and receiving, referring, or answering mail.

·       Makes travel arrangements for international and domestic travel, prepares expense reports, and maintains pertinent travel documentation.

·       Reviews drafts and finished documents for appropriate grammatical usage; answers questions relating to office operations and established policies and procedures.

·       Communicates with internal and external customers and executives, professionally representing the corporation and organization.

·       Facilitates program meetings (all hands, lunch and learns, and customer visits).

·       Collaborates with administrative professionals in related organizations, as appropriate.

·       Demonstrates a wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered.

·       Operates independently to meet requirements of leadership team and offers expertise to assist other functions within organization.

·       Assists in maintaining organizations collaboration sites and activities.

·       Assists events and activities of major organization initiatives.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision while exercising good judgment, demonstrating flexibility and agility, prioritizing multiple tasks with competing deadlines, managing schedule conflicts, and providing excellent follow through.

·       Pro-active mindset, self-motivated, well organized and detail oriented.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Comfort working with senior program leaders at the Director and VP-level and their assistants.

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

·       Must have a High School Diploma or GED AND at least 2 years of related professional admin and or executive assistance experience.

·       Must be proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to manage multiple calendars, create and edit documents.

·       Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher to be considered with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in continuous evaluation.

·       Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) prior to start.

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

·       Must have a High School Diploma or GED AND at least 4 years of related professional admin and or executive assistance experience.

·       Must be proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to manage multiple calendars, create and edit documents.

·       Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher to be considered with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in continuous evaluation.

·       Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) prior to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

·       An exceptional team player, interface well at all levels in the organization, be collaborative, proactive, self-motivated, well-organized, detail oriented, and assertive as necessary and able to execute projects and tasks independently

·       Experience with travel and expense reporting systems (Concur or similar).

·       Able to work with minimal supervision while exercising good judgment, demonstrating flexibility and agility, prioritizing multiple tasks with competing deadlines, managing schedule conflicts, and providing excellent follow-through

·       Outstanding verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

·       Ability to protect and maintain confidentiality

·       Current active Special Access Program clearances

·       Budgeting, expense tracking and reporting

·       Experience with employee relations and/or Human Relations administration and/or recruiting

·       AA or Bachelor’s degree and/or professional certification centric to administrative discipline

Salary Range: $43,600 - $72,600
Salary Range 2: $51,800 - $86,400
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
