Northrop Grumman is seeking a Computer Science / Information Systems student for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Redondo Beach, California.
The qualified candidate will work across Northrop Grumman’s Strategic Space Systems on a broad range of communications activities. They will directly report within the Communications Group to develop content that supports communications strategies and support internal employee communications, SharePoint management, business/ external communications, graphic design/visual storytelling and reproduction services. Day-to-day activities include supporting Communications campaigns, working with communication staff on activities and messaging, and developing visual materials for use by various target audiences. This internship provides significant exposure to leaders, opportunities to learn the business and develop skills that are valuable within and outside of the field of communications.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide general SharePoint administration and content management support
- Update navigation architecture, links structure, and news bulletins
- Conduct day-to-day intranet operations, including site administration and content planning/creation, as well as provide support for internal customers with wide-ranging needs and requirements
- Assist in creating fully deployable solutions for all custom SharePoint applications

A Candidate, Regardless Of Age And Hiring Source, Must Meet ALL Of The Below Criteria. The Candidate Must
- Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university
- Be majoring in Computer/Information Science, Communications, New Media, IT/Information Systems or Journalism that focuses on the following skills – information systems design, social software, services-oriented web architectures
- Have completed at least sophomore year
- Be available to work part-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks
- Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Teams and SharePoint Online (Modern and Classic)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Basic HTML and CSS knowledge
- Basic understanding of graphic and user design, as well as experience designing solutions in adherence with brand or organizational standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to adapt to cultural differences and work in a global environment

Intern Pay Range:
Bachelor’s: $16.50 to $32.50 per hour
Master’s: $26.00 to $41.75 per hour
