Northrop Grumman is seeking Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering interns. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Global Battle & Mission Readiness division in support of the B-2 Stealth Bomber Modification Team, under the Strike and Surveillance Aircraft Support Business Unit. In this role, you will help keep the B-2 fleet on the cutting edge of technology by continually installing capability upgrades. As an engineering intern, you will work directly with a team of mechanical, electrical, industrial and manufacturing engineers, as well as with technicians directly performing work on the aircraft. In addition to this production-like environment, you may also have the opportunity to support Air Force B-2 pilots, maintainers, and logisticians through other Northrop Grumman efforts at Whiteman AFB.
Basic Qualifications
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2025.
Be majoring in or having majored in one of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Industrial or Systems.
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2025.
Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Northrop Grumman will submit the clearance request.
Be available to work in person at Whiteman AFB, Missouri.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
Have strong verbal and written communication skills and experience working with a team
Have past work experience, especially work applicable to your degree program
At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
The pay ranges for this specific opportunity are as follows:
Undergraduate degrees (Including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master’s program): $16.50 - $30.50
Masters degrees : $24.00 - $37.75
