Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Quality Manager to join our team in Annapolis, Maryland.

The Quality Manager is responsible for Quality Assurance supervision and leadership to salaried non -exempt personnel in Receiving, Mechanical and Electrical Inspection areas. Interpret department instructions, company policies and procedures as applied to salaried employees, provide training, ensure housekeeping and health & safety requirements are met, and monitor equipment for current calibration. Apply and prioritize Inspection resources in such a fashion as to meet all cost, schedule, and quality requirements. An understanding and experience in inspection measuring equipment, NDT equipment and drawing interpretation both mechanical and electrical is required.


  • Functional leadership for inspection team at the Annapolis site
  • Manage daily priorities in Receiving, Mechanical and Electrical Inspection areas
  • Track and Drive Quality initiatives, Compliance Matrixes, FAI's, Corrective Actions, and Process Improvements
  • Develop a deep understanding of industry ISO Quality Standards 
  • Manage data collection, analysis, metrics, and presentations
  • Facilitate root case and corrective action investigations
  • Contribute to inspection hours estimates for proposals
  • Author documentation to instruct operations on successful execution of quality requirements
  • Support internal audits, process observations, and area assessments
  • Leading FMEA efforts
  • Contribute to WCM efforts
  • Work with other functional Managers and Directors as well as our local DCMA representatives.
  • Perform internal and ISO 9000 audits as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant work experience (13+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance work experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of corrective action principles (5-Why, Fishbone, KT, etc.)
  • Knowledge of world class manufacturing principles (Focused Improvement, Safety, Cost etc.)
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Microsoft Office skill, SAP and MES Group is desired.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Prior Inspection supervision or Quality Assurance leadership experience
  • Experience with processing rejected material in accordance with VMDA procedures
  • Experience with CMM operation and/ or programming
  • Experience with NDT Inspection (VT, MT, PT)
  • Green/Black Belt Six Sigma Certification
  • Top Secret /SCI Clearance


Salary Range: $113,200 USD - $169,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
