Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

•    Roles and Responsibilities: 
This role will be embedded in one or more of our Software Scrum Teams. The primary responsibility of this position will be to support UX Design efforts across a variety of domains and platforms.

•    Translate high-level objectives and design principles into polished visual design. 
•    Participate in user research activities inclusive of participatory design sessions
•    Interpret business needs into effective visual communication tools
•    Rapidly develop behavioral prototypes, user flows, final design assets, hi-fidelity mock-ups and lightweight design specifications.
•    Contribute to the ideation and concept development of visual design concepts. 
•    Design user experiences that are intuitive and elegant and in-line with current design trends and concepts, delivering wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces. 
•    Be an advocate for interaction design best practices with a focus on consistency and usability. 
•    Clear understanding of accessibility (contrast, font size, color, touch, and more) to achieve AA levels.  
•    Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders. 
•    Make data-informed product design decisions and ideations to create the best user experience 
•    Create project timelines and prioritize current projects 

Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must hold a TS/SCI Full-scope poly and minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Level 2 UX Designer
•    BS/BA in related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience; 0 years with a Master's degree (in lieu of education, 4 years of additional exempt related experience)
Level 3 UX Designer
•   BS/BA in related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Master's degree (in lieu of education, 4 years of additional exempt related experience)

•    Experience designing graphic user interfaces elements and UI mockups/prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look
•    Strong understanding of the end-to-end UX/UI lifecycle, design principles and process
•    Must be organized and able to manage multiple competing priorities 
•    Experience working with desktop, mobile web and native apps

Preferred Qualifications:
•    BS/BA or Master’s degree in Information Communication Technology, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field
•    Excellent eye and visual taste, including a passion for simplicity and a clean, crisp aesthetic
•    Experience with large-scale projects
•    Basic knowledge and understanding of human-centered thinking/design
•    Experience using methodologies such as Agile, Lean UX, and Lean Startup.
•    Experience using web analytics data to inform design decisions.
•    Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to present projects and status reports to senior management.
•    Current with the latest UX and UI trends, techniques, and technologies 
•    Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript 
•    Have experience in agile methodologies 
•   Excellent verbal and visual communicator that is flexible and patient


Salary Range: 1 - 1

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
