The Sr Principal Project Management will oversee and manage all operational aspects. Serves as manufacturing team liaison to/from program management, engineering, manufacturing operations, global supply chain, mission assurance and customers. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with program managers, line managers, and clients. Business-facing manufacturing representative responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance execution of the Manufacturing scope of the contract. Manufacturing lead for proposal phase of the Manufacturing operations content including coordinating the inputs with the program office, engineering, SCM and the functional manufacturing and test organizations. Focal point in driving manufacturing process development, continuous improvement, and affordability initiatives related to their specific program . Manages risks and opportunities for all Manufacturing scope. Collaborates with all functional organizations to resolve any Manufacturing conflicts or challenges. Cost Account Manager (CAM) for Manufacturing Operations budget, including Earned Value Management reporting and variance reporting. Ensures that the required manufacturing and test resources are forecasted and secured to execute the job (people, equipment and facilities). Manufacturing representative at program Configuration Control Board, ensuring proper implementation of design changes. Active participant in program risk management activity, ensuring manufacturing risks are accurately portrayed in the program risk register.

Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks. Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems. Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. May develop and deliver presentations.

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience; 8 years work experience with a Master's Degree.

• Experience in a multi-disciplined manufacturing environment.

• Experience supporting the manufacturing discipline.

• Experience in earned value management knowledge.

• Strong communication (verbal and written) including presentation skills.

• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement.

• Experience in BOE/Proposal

• Experience with Risk Management, RTG plans, and Forecasting EACs, and managing budgets.


Salary Range: $89,800 USD - $134,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
