Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer - Enabling Products Workflow Management to join our team in Aurora, CO.

The Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer - Enabling Products Workflow Management will be responsible for:

  • Engineer software delivery pipeline environment; providing best practices and knowledge of DevOps and configuration Management tools
  • Design, develop, integrate and test DevOps principals and functionality
  • Identification of design decisions to provide consistent, reliable and timely software delivery mechanisms and processes
  • Identification of technical performance of DevOps tools, processes and methodology
  • Provide problem solving and troubleshooting skills across multiple development/ops environments.
  • Provide knowledge of virtual hosted environment based on capacity planning analysis as new capabilities are added to the system and old ones are retired.
  • Provide excellent communication skills across teams; internally and externally
  • Identification of process improvement areas, especially in relation to resource utilization and baseline management
  • This position is a direct report to the IPT Manager

This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled as either a Systems Engineer or a Principal Systems Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for a Systems Engineer:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of relevant experience; 0 years with a Masters.
  • Understanding of DevOps principals and the function of associated tool suites within the development process (Ansible, Workflows, Jira, Git, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Understanding of agile methodology for a development project
  • Understanding of configuration management processes and tools
  • Knowledge of virtual environments.
  • Demonstrated project execution skills with ability to work coordinate activities and meet deadlines
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Ability to function well in a dynamic environment and quickly adjust to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to work effectively with others
  • Quick learner and self-starter
  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and be willing to submit to a poly.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD.
  • Understanding of DevOps principals and the function of associated tool suites within the development process (Ansible, Workflows, Jira, Git, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Understanding of agile methodology for a development project
  • Understanding of configuration management processes and tools
  • Knowledge of virtual environments.
  • Demonstrated project execution skills with ability to work coordinate activities and meet deadlines
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Ability to function well in a dynamic environment and quickly adjust to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to work effectively with others
  • Quick learner and self-starter
  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and be willing to submit to a poly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detail oriented
  • Self-starter
  • Strong problem solving skills and results oriented approach to work execution
  • Ability to identify system design and operational vulnerabilities, and make recommendations to address deficient areas
  • Experience on New Moon or legacy programs is a plus
  • Experience delivering operational mission systems
  • Experience with automated and/or on-site deployments

Salary Range: $78,600 USD - $118,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
