Northrup Grumman Space Systems has an opportunity for a Principal Quality Engineer 3 or Sr Principal Quality Engineer 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Aurora, CO. Join the Space PGS Division in its Drive for Excellence and work with our team of experts in developing and delivering Space PGS systems and solutions that keep our world safe.

The Principal Quality Engineer 3 or Sr Principal Quality Engineer 4 develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for hardware quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures. Conducts hardware inspection, testing, verification and validation. Implements hardware development and maintenance processes and methods. Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract. Reviews hardware design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Performs or directs verification of hardware capabilities allocations, traceability, and testability.

Basic Qualifications: This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Quality Engineer 3 or Sr Principal Quality Engineer 4.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Quality Engineer 3:

  • BS within a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited college with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Masters or 0 years with a PhD.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of hardware development methods and Systems Engineering practices
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate hardware work products
  • Experience performing receiving inspection on procured hardware
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Top Secret clearance required to start. Must be able to obtain and maintain an SCI

Basic Qualifications for Sr Principal Quality Engineer 4:

  • BS within a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited college with a minimum 9 years of relevant experience; 7 years with a Masters or 4 years with a PhD.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of hardware development methods and Systems Engineering practices
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate hardware work products
  • Experience performing receiving inspection on procured hardware
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Top Secret clearance required to start. Must be able to obtain and maintain an SCI

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting an agile and/or dev ops software development environment
  • Experience/Certification inspecting to IPC-A-610 class 3 and IPC/WHMA-A-620
  • AS9100 auditing experience and/or auditor training
  • Experience using SAP
  • Understanding of GD&T

Salary Range: $88,000 USD - $132,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $109,100 USD - $163,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
