Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector, strategic force programs, is seeking an experienced Test Software Engineer (Level 2) to join our diverse team in Azusa, CA, working software Test and Integration for Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) satellite payload data processing and support. This role will report on-site daily. We can accommodate partial teleworking but it is fully dependent upon business/program need, so will not always be a consistent schedule.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing requirements
  • Creating Test Plans, Procedures and Reports
  • Executing Test Procedures to ensure requirements compliance
  • Test and integrate software written in various computer languages such as C++ and  Python/Ruby.
  • Performing troubleshooting
  • Work with software developers as needed to help diagnose and identify the root cause of problems found during software integration
  • Meet project milestones while ensuring software test standards are met
  • Maintain the test environment, security posture, and work with System Administrators to diagnose network issues.
  • Participate in the day-to-day support of the program in resolving critical/urgent program/technical issues

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 years related experience OR Master’s Degree in STEM discipline
  • Strong analytical skills to decompose requirements, determine test methodologies, and assess performance test data.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Some experience writing Requirements Verification Plans, Test Plan & Procedures, analyzing requirements for testability.
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and version control tools such as ClearCase, ClearQuest, and Git
  • Knowledge of Agile development concepts, methodologies
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD secret clearance (US Citizenship Required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Beginner or better in Jira, Git.
  • Beginner level experience with Ruby, Python, C++, shell scripts
  • Knowledge of scripting, automating tests and DevSecOps.
  • Familiarity with Agile SW development process
  • Experience in software integration and software testing.
  • Ability to implement process improvement, streamline activities, and develop efficiencies
  • Good basic communication and organizational skills; good interpersonal and analytic skills
  • Active and current DoD Secret clearance or higher

Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
