Northrop Grumman Strategic Force Programs in Azusa, CA is seeking a Manager, Manufacturing Operations 3. This position will report on-site daily.

The Manager, Manufacturing Operations role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing facility and complete execution through delivery to both internal and external customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop goals and objectives for each reporting department
• Accountability for meeting or exceeding the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Employee and Cost (SQDEC) metrics and expectations of internal and external customers across assigned programs. Establish department budgetary plan and manage budgets and risks to ensure financial commitments are met
• Own, execute and continuously improve Daily Management (Gemba, Obeya, Stand-Ups). Ownership and accountability for effective hand-offs through all functional and process center areas
• Create a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, sharing (yokoten) and disciplined root cause problem solving
• Collaboration and coordination with Operations, Engineering, and Business Support Functions to achieve product and site business goals
• Forecast, develop and implement capital equipment plans. Ensure that equipment and machinery are maintained in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules for assigned areas
• Develop relationships with cross-sector manufacturing and supply chain leadership. Leverage Azusa manufacturing and test capability to identify intercompany work opportunities and/or offload work to other business for specific capability or capacity needs
• Support enterprise, division, and BU strategy and initiatives.
• Develop talent through the performance management process, including individual and team goal setting, coaching and personnel development, and maintain department training requirements and deploy resources according to skillsets
• Provide inputs into customer proposals by providing basis of estimates for labor, risks, and schedule durations.
• Develop and generate a factory capacity and resource plan based on program master schedules, future production requirements and unplanned work
• Design and execution of staffing strategy to meet/balance customer needs and business objectives.
• Communicate/escalate key issues related to safety/security, quality, delivery, employee, cost to site leadership and employees
• Advocate a safe, secure and ethical working environment that maintains compliance with federal, state and local government regulations.
• Utilize and improve Northrop Grumman Corporation Quality Management System to achieve compliance and maintain certifications for AS9100

• Production Manager, Manufacturing Engineering and Metrology Manager, Production Control Manager and Machine Shop Manager

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 9 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment or master’s degree in Engineering required and 7 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment. Aerospace experience is a plus.
• 5 years of leadership experience, demonstrating an ability to lead, build and manage effective cross-functional teams in an aerospace manufacturing environment
• Knowledge and experience to develop and execute process standards focused on products and risk management identification and mitigation
• Ability to solve problems and drive continuous improvements
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to work flexible schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends
• Ability to obtain a security clearance (US Citizenship Required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Active & current DoD secret security clearance or higher
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field & 10+ years of experience

Salary Range: $141,300 USD - $211,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
