Explore your future and launch your career today.   Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Strategic Space Systems in Azusa, CA, is seeking qualified and experienced Senior Principal Electrical Engineer (Level 4) with a strong background and deep technical knowledge in Electrical Design and Integration (EDI) and Electrical Systems architecture.  The candidate must be able to understand and develop viable electrical architecture from customer concepts and requirements, have the ability to interface with customers, and have the ability to drive technical issues to resolution.  The position will require candidate help ensure the optimal selection of payload data, networks, diagnostics, fault tolerance, functional portioning, and power and signal distribution.  Modeling and Simulation will be required to verify requirements.  This position requires ability to define and review electrical interface designs and understand the characteristics within a unit and between units.  The position will also require leadership of technical teams and coordination with multi-discipline functional organizations to ensure product reliability and requirements are met.  Proven ability to lead technical teams and oversee complex issues, including troubleshooting, is a must.    The successful candidate will use and apply advanced technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to perform hardware design and analysis, hardware integration and test, and support various space programs.  Specific assignments may include design analysis, deriving design requirements from system requirements, performing trade studies, preparing drawings, performing design reviews, developing test documents, and troubleshooting support.  Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance and/or due to business needs. Basic Qualifications: 
  •  Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) & 9 years of design experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field & 7 years of design experience
  • Experience with electrical design, hardware design, and product development
  • Experience with electrical systems architecture design
  • Aerospace or Space experience required
  • Active & current DoD secret clearance


Preferred Qualifications: 
  •  Master's Or PhD in Electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of space borne electronic systems
  • Experience with anomaly investigation
  • Experience with cable harness design, CCA design, & STE
  • Active & current TS/SCI security clearance
