Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Electronic Warfare Systems Engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Linthicum/Baltimore, MD campus.


As part of Northrop Grumman's Electronic Warfare Systems Engineering organization, the qualified candidate will have the opportunity to develop solutions for our customer’s most difficult technical challenges. This team is responsible for supporting the development of highly adaptive, software defined, hardware enabled systems across a variety of domains. Candidates must be self-motivated systems thinkers that can work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.


This position seeks a candidate to lead system engineering role on growing RF development program. Lead system engineer role tasks to include, but is not limited to:


- Management of the technical baseline

- Management of requirements

- Ownership of the final operating configuration

- Mission analysis

- MOE/MOP assessment and top level architecture trade studies

- CONOPs level link budget/latency analysis

- Interface with Modeling and simulation team.


Systems Engineers at Northrop Grumman performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal (Level 3):

  • Active or ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance prior to starting

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science.

  • Experience with MATLAB, AFSIM, SDK or equivalent software tools

  • Five (5) years of experience with Bachelors in Science; Three (3) years of experience with Masters; Zero (0) years of experience with PhD

  • Previous experience with radar waveforms, Electronic Support (ES), and/or Electronic Attack (EA)

Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal (Level 4):

  • Active or ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance prior to starting

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science.

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years’ experience, Master’s degree with 7 years’ experience, 4 years’ experience with PhD

  • Experience with MATLAB, AFSIM, SDK or equivalent software tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DoD Top Secret Clearance

  • Experience with digital signal processing

  • RF antennae design


Salary Range: 96600 - 145000
Salary Range 2: 119800 - 179600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
