Northrop Grumman is seeking MIT-GEL Program participants to join the Mission Systems Intern Program. Positions may be available in the following locations: Baltimore, MD, Rolling Meadows, IL, Woodland Hills, CA, San Diego, CA.

As an MIT-GEL intern, you’ll participate in a unique summer program to develop competencies in a variety of Hardware, Systems, Cyber Systems or Software engineering specializations in a highly-visible role that may include:

  • Working on a variety of projects and technical arenas
  • Experience will accelerate technical and business skill development 
  • Job assignments will be supported through specialized training, networking opportunities and mentoring by experts in the field.
  • Assignment(s) may include: Systems, Hardware or Software Engineering, IRAD/CRADs and the opportunity to explore such things as Business Development and Project Management.

Basic Qualifications:

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be an MIT-GEL Program participant AND graduating after August 2023
  • Be majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Math or another related technical field
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2023
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
  • Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.

Intern Pay Range:

Hourly Rate: $21.50 - $28.25

Salary Range: $22 USD - $28 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
