The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Linthicum Environmental Test Laboratory is seeking a Systems Environmental Test Engineer to support Climatics testing in the PQL building.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Environmental Test Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Defines tests required and writes test procedures
  • Determines fixtures required
  • Ensures tests are set up properly and procedures are followed
  • Interfaces with customers and interprets their needs
  • Supports technicians with test setup, troubleshooting and training
  • Compiles data and writes test reports

The right candidate will have analytical skills to review MIL Standards, test requirements, write test plans and procedures. The candidate will also have the ability to effectively communicate and work with customers, systems engineering, manufacturing, design engineering and test engineering personnel. He/She should be self-directed and organized.

This job may be filled as an Engineer or a Principal Engineer based on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications Systems Environmental Test Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering plus 2 years of relevant experience (0 years with a master’s degree)
  • Knowledge of environmental test and qualification
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

Basic Qualifications Principal Systems Environmental Test Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering plus 5 years of relevant experience (3 years with a master’s degree)
  • Experience with environmental test and qualification
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications for a Principal Engineer:

  • Experience with MIL-STD 810G environmental test and qualification
  • Experience with data acquisition systems
  • Experience with Thermotron 8800 controllers
  • Knowledge of vibration testing

Salary Range: $71,500 USD - $107,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $88,000 USD - $132,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
