Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineers to join our Electronic Warfare (EW) team with the desire to develop solutions for our customer’s most difficult technical challenges. Several of NGMS’ EW systems are already deployed on aircraft including EA-18G Growler, P-8 Poseidon, and JSF. NGMS is currently installing its first EW system (SEWIP) on a US Navy surface ship with deployment scheduled for 2023. Our EW systems provide non-kinetic electronic attack capabilities to the warfighter. Additionally, our EW software team is made up of talented engineers from across the engineering spectrum including software engineers, electrical engineers, digital engineers, and system engineers. Our EW group pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in electronic warfare through various ongoing IRAD programs.

Summary of Role and Responsibilities:

Candidates will work on software systems for mission systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle, primarily in C/C++/Ada. The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning and a culture of automation.

Our EW software teams work closely with systems engineering to support requirement analysis, as well as lab and flight data analysis. Not afraid to get your hands dirty? Our engineers are provided the opportunity to work alongside Integration and Test engineers to test and verify their software products on actual production hardware in our System Integration Laboratories.

The selected individual will work side by side with systems engineering to develop flow down software requirements and technical specifications. Responsibilities include identifying risks, suggesting mitigation, tracking defects, developing resolutions, and reporting status.
