Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Systems Administrator or a Sr. Principal Systems Administrator to support the Louisiana Office of Technology Services in Baton Rouge, LA.

Roles & Responsibilities include:  •Lead the efforts for continual process and quality improvement to deliver reliable end-to-end web services
•Experience in managing enterprise web application deployments in a highly visible production environment
•Lead and execute the analysis of new and existing architectures, set long term strategic direction, and ensure engineering platforms meet reliability and functional expectations throughout the environment lifecycle using industry standards and best practices
•Work with Enterprise Architects, Project Managers, Vendors and Developers to define and implement a Software Configuration Management solution
•Ensure operational documentation and run-books are up to date, reviewed and reliable
•Provide emergency response as needed to correct system failures
•Manage system performance, tuning, monitoring, and activity of all systems and databases related to daily operations
•Ensure secure operation of application, database, and operating system with patches and upgrades while maintaining applicable security compliance along with application and OS hardening.

    Basic Qualifications:This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below. This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a Level 4. Level 3 Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution and 6 years of relevant experience or 10 years of related experience will satisfy degree and work experience requirement.
• Possess a solid working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server Operating Systems
• Possess a solid working knowledge of LDAP, DNS, TLS, Load Balancers, and Firewalls
• Experience with J2EE Application servers such as WebLogic, Websphere, Jboss, Apache, Tomcat, Adobe LiveCycle / AEM
• Experience administering enterprise Linux environments (SLES or RHEL) on x86 and z/VM
• Experience with databases including DB2, MS SQL, MySQL etc.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Solid organizational abilities and aptitude to work independently and with a team
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card) holder Level 4 Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution and 10 years of relevant experience or 14 years of related experience will satisfy degree and work experience requirement.
• Possess a solid working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server Operating Systems

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Knowledge deploying EAR, WAR, and JAR files manually and automatically
• Background in application support / development using any of JAVA, C, C++, PERL, etc.
• Experience with Operating System and Application Server Clustering to provide HA
• Experience with IBM MQ
• Experience with Scripting languages such as BASH, Perl, VBScript, BAT, and Powershell
• Demonstrate self-motivation and problem solving skills along with the ability to grasp new concepts and make decisions quickly
• Ability to guide and mentor less experienced Administrators
