Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Pilot to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Beale AFB, CA.

Essential Functions: 

  • Delivering formal training unit instruction for manned/unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Provide subject matter expertise (SME) to include, but not limited to formal student training, airmanship, aircraft systems & performance and development & execution of operational training guides.

  • Define, plan, organize and execute complex flight programs and flight events.

  • Conduct briefing and debriefing, and coordinate with maintenance personnel to analyze and correct vehicle discrepancies.

  • May conduct demonstration flights with customers, government officials or other personnel to exhibit vehicle performance, flying qualities and system capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 9 years of aviation experience OR 7 years of experience with a Master’s degree.

  • Must be FAA instrument rated pilot (or military equivalent) with the ability to obtain a Class II FAA Physical or better.

  • Must have a minimum of 500 hours of flight experience as Pilot in Command in manned aircraft and able to maintain FAA instrument currency.

  • Must have an, Active, In-Scope, DOD Top Secret Security Clearance with a completed background investigation within the past 5 years.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR program access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field

  • UAV flight experience and/or Military flight experience

  • Flight test operations experience

  • Formal Training Unit instructor experience is highly desired 

Salary Range: 131800 - 197600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
