Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Supply Chain Government Procurement Specialist (Level 1 or 2) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Beavercreek, OH.

The selected candidate will manage a fast-paced, dynamic commodity with a broad range of suppliers and will be responsible for all aspects of supplier management.

Responsibilities:

  • Sources and procures raw materials, parts, services, machinery, equipment, tools, packaging materials, and/or other supplies as necessary
  • Initiate requests for quotes and proposals
  • Owns full procurement lifecycle (start to finish)
  • Develops competitive sources of supply in accordance with best practice and regulations
  • Analyze proposed pricing and perform best-value analysis
  • Negotiate with supplier to ensure best-value is achieved and find opportunities to reduce cost and improve performance
  • Justifies pricing through data analytics
  • Creates Purchase Orders from Purchase Requisitions
  • Places POs with suppliers and tracks supplier acknowledgements and updates
  • Resolves discrepancies as required
  • Operates in compliance with FAR and DFAR Government procurement regulations
  • Develops and maintains solid, ethical supplier relationships:
  • Supplier system management
  • Provide input in support of meeting supply chain metrics
  • Data transfer submissions
  • Invoice reconciliation and payment approval for services completed
  • Obtain and become knowledgeable of industry trends regarding raw material
  • Work with internal customers to ensure requirements and specifications are appropriate for the required product

Our team operates in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations and diverse assignments in a collaborative team setting. We work closely with Program Management, Quality, and Engineering to ensure the highest quality products are received in time to support critical government customers.

We work on a 9/80 schedule, which gives us every other Friday off to pursue passions outside of work. Our team also offers a flexible work arrangement.  There is a possibility of minimal travel (less than 10% and generally for supplier visits).

This position may be filled at an Associate Supply Chain Procurement Specialist or Supply Chain Procurement Specialist level depending on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications:

Associate Supply Chain Procurement Specialist

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Purchasing/Supply Chain or related field. Note: an additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated Computer Proficiency - Large portion of the job is interacting with our ERP system and other digital systems.
  • Procurement and negotiation experience
  • Professional and detailed communication skills with strong customer service relationship skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance

Supply Chain Procurement Specialist

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Purchasing/Supply Chain or related field with 3 years of related work experience; Master's Degree. Note: an additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated Computer Proficiency - Large portion of the job is interacting with our ERP system and other digital systems.
  • Procurement and negotiation experience
  • Professional and detailed communication skills with strong customer service relationship skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of MRP systems, Supply Chain Mgmt, procurement principles, acquisition regulations
  • Experience and comfort in high volume Purchase Order placement
  • Government procurement experience under FAR/DFAR regulations
  • Familiarity with CostPoint (Deltek ERP System)
  • Procurement experience within metal fab/aerospace industry


Salary Range: $46,600 USD - $69,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $56,300 USD - $84,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
