Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Machinist 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Beavercreek, OH with candidate flexible to go in-between sites (Beavercreek & Kettering), with possibility for Kettering being primary home location once security clearance is obtained.

Our team is at the core of innovation, supporting the Warfighter and National Security. This is a great opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist who desires exciting and challenging work utilizing 3-Axis and 5-Axis machining centers. This is a 1st shift position that will require flexibility between sites as well as OT when needed to support program demand. Must be able to work under minimal supervision, be a quick learner as well as a team player.

Responsibilities:

• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).  
• Align and fasten work using standard fixtures and established methods.
• Use a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Perform computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Program and edit G-Code and conversational.
• Implement lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.

Travel is less than 10%.

Hours currently are 6:00Am – 3:30PM (1st shift) or potentially 4/10 M-T Hours and shift are subject to change in order to meet our customer demand (GMI).

Primary work site is Beavercreek, OH, however this position will also need to support our Kettering, OH facility as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent/GED and 2+ years of relevant work or related education
• 2+ years of experience developing prototype programs on 3 Axis CNC vertical machining centers.
• 2+ years of experience setting up and operating developed 3 Axis and 5 Axis CNC vertical machining centers.
• Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Secret security clearance
• Associates degree or Trade School certification
• Experience with composite, honeycomb, and aluminum materials

Salary Range: $41,700 USD - $69,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
