Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Hardware Engineering department at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH., has an opening for a Technician 3.  Under little supervision, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or RF systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks. Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications. Diagnoses and isolates malfunctions down to component level. Conducts defined engineering tests and collects data as assigned. Utilizes routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus. Soldering in the production and repair of RF coax cables and printed circuit boards including surface mount soldering under a microscope. Will perform routine maintenance of the Lab facility to include equipment calibration, weekly checks and audits of various computer systems.

MANUMS

Basic Qualifications:

AA college degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 4 years of related experience.

Three years Technician experience supporting design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment activities in analog, digital and/or RF systems applications.

Experience working with and from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans.

Experience with routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks.

Experience Diagnosing and isolating malfunctions down to component level.

Experience with diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus.

Experience with building various types of cables (RF,  ethernet, data, control, aircraft MIL-SPEC, Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA) compliant, custom), soldering connectors/leads/circuit cards, and installing lab equipment (mounting hardware in racks, installing antennas on vehicles, routing cables as necessary)

Experience writing and running different types of scripts (python, bash, etc.) for system configurations

Ability to obtain SECRET security clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

7 years of related experience desired.


Salary Range: $54,000 USD - $90,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
