Come be a part of our mission.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Senior Principal Systems Engineer for Research and Development based out of Bellevue, Nebraska.What you’ll get to do:
  • Be the lead engineer on a research and development effort supporting the corporate Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Campaign
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) standards to prototype concepts for the next generation NC3 enterprise
  • Research and apply new technology such as cloud computing infrastructure and containerized microservices to a critical “no-fail” mission for the DoD
  • Develop descriptive system models to include physical/functional diagrams at various abstraction layers for Model-Based Engineering (MBE) and MBSE efforts
  • Create new and adapt existing models, methods, and analyses to conduct studies on design, development, and assessment of advanced system concepts and technologies
  • Ensure performance of new systems and architectures are consistent with mission requirements; develop mission relevant scenarios; assess effectiveness of existing and emerging systems and capabilities in representative operational environments
  • Work within multi-disciplined teams to architect, model, simulate, and analyze systems to predict/verify system performance against functional/capability requirements
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar discipline with 9 years of experience as an engineer; or 7 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; or 4 years with PhD.
  • Holds or previously held a Cloud Computing Certification from AWS or Azure
  • Experience with networking, cloud computing, and software container orchestration
  • Experience with scripting and coding languages such as Python and Java
  • Experience with executing projects within an Agile framework
  • Experience with Linux and MS Windows operating systems for product development
  • Familiarity with MBSE using SysML, UML or other descriptive constructs/tools.
  • Self-driven, able to tackle challenges, solve problems with minimal oversight and make recommendations for solutions/process improvement to leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • DoD Secret clearance required to start and the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with NC3 systems/processes and DoD Architecture Framework artifacts
  • Experience with engineering tools such as Cameo and IBM DOORS
  • DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Minimal travel is expected

Salary Range: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
