The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Northrop Grumman Space Components Business Unit designs, manufactures and operates small and medium-class spacecraft for communications, imaging, scientific, exploration and national security space applications. The Group is leading supplier of space components that power and enable satellites of all classes, provides technical engineering services to government agencies and laboratories, and is developing exciting new satellite servicing and advanced space flight technologies.

Northrop Grumman Space Components has an opening for a Configuration Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Beltsville, MD for 1st shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain program document baseline through the lifecycle of the program.

  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of external and internal drawings and specifications verifying they comply with company Configuration Management standards before releasing them to the appropriate program via CM Databases or Product Lifecycle Management system, Windchill.

  • Route internal documentation for review/approval via Windchill product lifecycle management tool, SharePoint or email notification.

  • Coordinates change records for management control.

  • Enters part numbers or documents into Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system, CostPoint.

  • Perform document revision audits to verify compliance with contract requirements and/or internal engineering baselines.

  • Support internal customers with the creation of internal documentation.

  • Scanning documentation.

  • Maintains procedures for storage, retention and destruction of company records.

  • Issue, track and distribute engineering documentation to the shop floor.

  • Input large amount of data into an access database.

  • Must be able to work with other CM individuals, must feel comfortable interfacing with program managers, shop floor personnel, engineers and analysis teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of related experience in configuration management. 4 years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.


Salary Range: $68,100 USD - $102,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
