Primary Responsibilities:

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for you to join our team as an Algorithm Developer based out of Boulder, CO. You will be responsible for researching and identifying complex, multi-disciplinary problems, breaking into software components, and designing and implementing algorithm solutions. Work will include planning and executing team projects, developing prototypes and customer demonstrations, and analyzing algorithm, subsystem, and interface performance. You are expected to communicate technical information effectively and clearly, present technical approaches and findings, and report status to colleagues including customers and program management.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develops innovated approaches across a diverse suite of algorithms in a rapid prototyping environment
• Software and tool development using a spiral development framework
• Coordinate with software and test teams to perform integration and resolve defects with improvement recommendations
• Drives the engineering process development, continuous improvement, and affordability initiatives within their program

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Math or related discipline with 9 years of related experience; 7 years of related experience with a Masters
• Software algorithm development experience for complex, mathematically intensive systems
• Experience with Linux
• Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs)
• DoD Secret clearance that is or has been active within the last two years
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• C++, C development experience
• Strong statistical analysis background
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, Java, or FORTRAN
• Focus in optimal estimation and multiple-model state estimation
• DoD TS/SCI clearance that is or has been active within the last two years
• Ability to travel on occasion (10% max) to Northrop Grumman and customer locations

Salary Range: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
