Space Systems, Propulsion Systems (PS) Business Unit is currently hiring for the Process Engineering Director position.  This position has responsibilities at both our Bacchus and Promontory Utah facilities. Role description & Responsibilities:
The Director of Process Engineering reports to the Senior Director of Operations for Propulsion Systems and will lead the Process Engineering departments supporting operations at the Bacchus, Clearfield and Promontory locations.  This position is responsible for leading the activities of the Process Engineering organization involving all aspects of Rocket Motor manufacturing including composite case, case insulation, case lining, propellant mixing and casting, final assembly and case refurbishment.  Additional process related responsibilities include Process Engineering direction for flares & decoy manufacturing, motor dissection/sampling, demilitarization activities and new process development for the Test and Research areas.  The Director is responsible to manage the Process Engineering resources, budgets and personnel to support the Value Streams and ensure efficient production and delivery of quality hardware and products throughout these areas for a variety of government and commercial customers.  Responsibilities not related to the product processes include the management of the Electronic Shop-Floor Instruction (ESI) team and the Operations Training Organization. Responsibilities include:
•    Leads the Process Engineering organization and is accountable for all technical support for rocket motor production programs and production/research facilities, operations and equipment.  Works with the Value Stream Leadership to ensure proper support of the VSO requirements.
•    Develops, communicates and implements vision, strategy, goals and metrics that align with the broader Operations organization and drive business objectives for safety, quality, people, cost, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
•    Establishes and implements a comprehensive process control approach covering multiple operating sites and production/development programs
•    Develops and sustains process engineering standards and related company command media.
•    Manages engineering staffing resources to effectively support, resolve and prevent production processing issues.
•    Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with work teams, customers, program management, and other support organizations.
•    Manages material and labor budgets.
•    Utilizes effective talent management strategies to attract, retain, develop and engage the right people for the organization.
•    Support product design, safety, and process reviews to ensure standards are followed and best practices are implemented across all of PSD.
•    Ensures a culture of continuous improvement is instilled in the entire organization.

Education and Experience Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, advanced degree in engineering or business preferred.
•    Eight or more years in leadership as well as 10 years related experience in manufacturing operations, engineering, and/or program management.

•    Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Process Engineering fundamentals and leadership skills that lead to safe and high quality manufacturing of complex and technically demanding products.
•    Ability to foster implementation of continuous improvement projects in a controlled and safe manner.
•    Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply lean thinking principles and tools in order to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
•    Ability to formulate and execute complex project plans and initiatives.
•    Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills.
•    Strong business acumen and a clearly demonstrated commitment to open communication and customer satisfaction.
•    Demonstrated commitment to continuous development and enhancement of department personnel, including fostering a gratifying, collaborative work environment where employees are valued, empowered to undertake challenges and are encouraged to be innovative.
•    Energetic operations experience including a strong working knowledge of Propulsion Systems Hazardous Operation Standards (HOPS)
