The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Strategy and Mission Solutions (S&MS) Team is seeking a Business Development Manager for the Airborne Multifunction Sensors (AMS) portfolio. The position will be responsible for 1) providing operational and technical expertise to support the development of cutting-edge joint service and international aviation systems and concepts of operation; 2) supporting the development and execution of business development strategies; 3) interfacing with customers and other government stakeholders; and 4) engaging with the broader defense strategy, policy, budgeting, and acquisitions community.
The selected candidate for this role will be expected to work primarily onsite in the Linthicum, MD area.
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years experience OR a Master’s and 8+ years professional or military experience that includes a background in business development and/or project/program management.
The applicant must understand and be familiar with aviation mission sets across Air Superiority, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Air Battle Management and Electronic Warfare.
Strong communication skills are required, to include the ability to generate and present material to customers and senior executives.
U.S citizen and active US DoD Secret clearance (in scope) with he ability to qualify for access to Special Access Programs (SAPs).
Frequent travel to other company and customer facilities may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ability to function as part of an integrated team
Basic technical understanding of RF systems and their applicability to missions
Basic technical understanding of EO/IR systems and their applicability to missions
An advanced degree and 10+ years’ military experience
Familiarity with Department of Defense strategy, policy, budgets, requirements, and acquisition processes
Familiarity with International business development, foreign military sales, and export regulations
Experience with the sustainment of military systems
Graduate of the United States Air Force Weapons School or Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program (SFTI / TOPGUN) programs and understanding of U.S. weapons and tactics
