The Subcontracts and Procurement function plays a crucial and meaningful role in the success of Northrop Grumman Australia, directly supporting the delivery of our products and services by securing the essential goods and services that drive our operations. This team manages the entire lifecycle of subcontracts —sourcing to completion—ensuring that every agreement aligns with company policies, legal requirements, and customer expectations. Through strong supplier relationships and a focus on strategic procurement, the Subcontracts function ensures that our projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget. Their work is instrumental in maintaining the high standards of quality and performance that are central to our organisation’s success.
Your Role:
As the Subcontracts and Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing Northrop Grumman’s procurement and subcontracting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and value at every stage. You will oversee a range of subcontracts, from standard to complex agreements, ensuring all aspects of the procurement process comply with company policies and customer requirements. Your key responsibilities will include providing expert guidance and counsel to the business with regard to all subcontract matters and partnering with stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives, including ensuring use of appropriate terms and conditions and other risk related items in all agreements. Additionally, you will develop highly effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including critical subcontractors, management, customers and other third parties.
Leading the NGA Supply Chain Subcontracts and Procurement team, you will support and develop team members, driving the development of effective sourcing and subcontract solutions. Working alongside the Supply Chain Manager NGA, you will implement continuous improvements in processes, tools, and templates, streamlining operations and enhancing the overall efficiency of the supply chain. Your leadership will be key to ensuring the team consistently delivers value-driven outcomes for the business.
About You:
You bring extensive experience in senior subcontracts or procurement roles within complex, capital-intensive environments. Your proven ability to manage large, intricate contracts, lead teams, and drive strategic procurement initiatives sets you apart as a highly capable professional. You have a strong record of successful contract negotiations, compliance management, and supplier relationships, ensuring objectives are achieved within demanding timeframes.
Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills enable you to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from internal teams to customers and suppliers. You are adept at providing sound contractual advice, managing competing priorities, and ensuring alignment across the business. Your in-depth understanding of legal and contractual requirements guarantees that all agreements are compliant while delivering maximum value for the company.
As a leader, you are committed to developing and mentoring geographically dispersed teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Your ability to identify and implement process improvements ensures that your team operates efficiently and consistently delivers outstanding results.
