Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Networked Information Systems (NIS) is seeking a Contracts Manager 1 to join our team in Linthicum, MD. This position will support the Advanced Processing Solutions (APS) Business Unit within NIS.
The successful candidate will lead, inspire, and motivate a team of high performing, highly engaged contracts administrators in support of early acquisition, development, and production programs. The successful candidate will partner closely with leaders across program management, business management, pricing & estimating, global supply chain, operations, engineering, the law department, and other functional teams supporting the APS BU.
This manager will be responsible for fostering intimate customer relationships and providing experienced program support inclusive of strong negotiation strategies for a portfolio of active programs and capture opportunities. The successful candidate will use their problem-solving skills to advise senior management of the company’s contractual rights and obligations and facilitate their team’s professional and career development. They will provide task-oriented direction to their team, leveraging management guidelines and company policies and procedures to maintain program excellence and deliver strong financial performance.
The Contracts Manager must possess the ability to work collaboratively with the Program team, effectively engage external customers, and provide guidance and direction based upon the requirements of the contracts. The successful candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years experience working in Contracts Administration or related field or 3 years with a Master’s degree
Proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
Contracts Administration in a FAR/DFARS environment
Background in DoD contracting, prior experience with the USG and/or major defense contractor customers
Experience negotiating and administering various contract types of varying sizes and types of agreements
Strong proposal development skills, solid negotiation skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills
Active Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a classified program environment
Demonstrated 1+ year(s) of leadership or supervisor experience
Familiarity with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) tool such as SAP
Active Top Secret clearance
