Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst / Sr. Principal Financial Analyst to support the Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) Operating Unit (OU) under the Combat Systems and Mission Readiness (CMSR) Division. Put your analytical and problem-solving skills to the test by pushing the boundaries of the possible in our growing business endeavors. Our portfolio of programs ensures our customers can connect and protect our soldiers in hostile environments defending millions of people around the world.
This role will work directly for the OU Business Manager and lead various financial projects, data management, and investment analytical efforts for the team. The selected candidate will become an integral part of the IDS OU team tasked with providing support for all planning and reporting activities. The ideal candidate will be proactive and have the ability work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL with potential for a hybrid schedule.

Job duties and responsibilities, will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinate monthly financial forecasts consolidations and analysis
- Facilitate indirect budget and forecast management
- Lead cash analysis and supporting treasury forecasts deliverables
- Support quarterly balance sheet analytics (backlog/unbilled)
- Manage logistics and visibility of annual long range planning efforts
- Develop NCTA budget and cost forecasts
- Create high level labor analysis
- Confirm database elements/contract attributes are accurate
- Support the testing and maintenance of financial models
- Perform ad-hoc modeling and reporting as required
Basic Qualifications: Principal Financial Analyst
- Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience – OR – a Master’s degree with 4 years or a High School diploma / equivalent with 10 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Knowledge: Broad knowledge with techniques in collecting data, analyzing information, generating reports
- Strong Excel Skills (Pivots/Slicers)
- Solid working knowledge of SAP/S4 HANA/BW/Precision/Cognos
- Ability to identify problems/gaps in the financial data/process, develop creative solutions, and implement sustainable improvements
- Must be able to work within time constraints while managing multiple priorities
- Must be able to work well across functional disciplines in diverse locations
Basic Qualifications: Sr. Principal Financial Analyst
- Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience – OR – a Master’s degree with 8 years or a High School diploma / equivalent with 14 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Knowledge: Broad knowledge with techniques in collecting data, analyzing information, generating reports
- Strong Excel Skills (Pivots/Slicers)
- Solid working knowledge of SAP/S4 HANA/BW/Precision/Cognos
- Ability to identify problems/gaps in the financial data/process, develop creative solutions, and implement sustainable improvements

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with developing investment analysis (ROI/RONA) tools
- Prior experience developing and managing indirect rates
