Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Principal Accountant to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at in Azusa, CA and will offer a hybrid work schedule, 3-days per week onsite. There will be limited travel required for this role.
Roles and responsibilities of the Senior Principal Accountant will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
- Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
- Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
- May design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions.
- Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of finance or accounting experience – OR – Master’s Degree and 8+ years of finance or accounting experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite - specifically high level Excel skills (including: the ability to insert pivot tables, Vlookup, and conditional formatting, etc.).
- US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in a regulated industry: to include Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, and Telecommunications.
