The Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Sr Principal Financial Analyst L4 located at our facility in Roy, UT.

This position will support the SDS division Compliance team to manage financial aspects of the business to achieve the division’s financial and strategic objectives. The successful candidate must have the ability to foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around ethics and integrity, affordability, innovation, and continuous improvement. The candidate will maintain the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance, and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics. 


Roles and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide financial analysis and reporting with the ability to clearly communicate with senior management as it relates to prior year rate performance and compliance financial status and analyses.

  • Mentor junior Business Management analysts within the team.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers, including DCMA and DCAA, and provide timely responses to requests for information in support of various audits or ad hoc requests.

  • Support unallowable testing, analysis, and cost corrections by enforcing policies and procedures, ensuring rate segment compliance with internal SOX controls, and educate employees on compliance guidelines.

  • Support Disclosure Statement updates and build general dollar magnitude (GDM) proposals related to disclosure statement changes.

  • Assist with the preparation, submission, and audits of the segment’s incurred cost proposal.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline with 10 years of industry related experience – OR – Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline with 8 years of industry related experience. An additional four years’ experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, chart generation, etc.)

  • Detail and results oriented; ability to deliver timely and accurate results under time sensitive conditions.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.  US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the aerospace and defense industry

  • Experience with SAP accounting system

  • Self-motivated, yet functions well in a team environment

  • Analytical; makes recommendations using acquired data and cumulative experience

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

  • CAS and FAR knowledge

  • Active DoD Secret level security clearance.  US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Salary Range: $92,400 - $138,600
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
