Northrop Grumman Space Systems designs, builds and delivers space related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; strategic deterrents; satellites and associated space components and services; payload and ground systems; and other strategic space-based initiatives.
We are currently seeking a SOX Compliance Analyst 2/3 to join the SOX team in Dulles VA. This individual will be responsible for defining, implementing the sector SOX internal controls strategy and framework to drive processes and compliance for all divisions.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluating and helping to design the operating effectiveness of SOX internal controls and make recommendations for improvement.
- Working with external and internal auditors and Corporate SOX PMO to plan and implement assessment of the control environment, coordinating timing and execution of process walk throughs and operating effectiveness testing cycles.
- Working with the division and functional teams to perform and monitor SOX internal controls and processes.
- General audit support; including document retrieval, review, and research.
- Supporting ongoing monitoring of internal controls and responding to related inquiries.
- Documenting identified findings and deficiencies, providing guidance on remediation actions, and monitoring remediation activities to completion.
- Performing quarterly and year-end SOX reporting tasks, including administration of SOX certifications for entire SP sector and reporting to Corporate SOX PMO.
- Assisting with development and implementation of policies and procedures related to internal controls over financial reporting and SOX.
- Supporting routine and ad hoc financial reporting requirements.
- Other duties, as assigned.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related field) and 3+ years of accounting, audit, finance, and/or business management experience – OR – a Master’s degree or CPA and 1+ years of relevant work experience.
- Public Accounting experience, IF directly relevant, may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related field) and 6+ years of accounting, audit, finance, and/or business management experience – OR – a Master’s degree or CPA and 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Public Accounting experience, IF directly relevant, may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience.
Additional Basic qualifications for both levels:
- Experience performing and supporting audit activities.
- Data and financial analysis skills, including use and understanding of spreadsheets.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, yet functions well in a team environment.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance. US citizenship is a prerequisite.
Preferred Qualifications
- GAAP accounting proficiency and research experience.
- Operational experience with SAP and/or Costpoint in Aerospace / Defense production environments.
- Industry relevant experience in External or Internal Audit, SOX Internal Controls, Risk Management, Accounting and/or Finance experience.
- Public Accounting experience.
- CPA License/CPA Candidate in the near term.
- Experience with SAP and/or HFM.
