SSSD has an opening for a Senior Principal and/or Staff Cost Control Analyst (Level 4/5) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Redondo Beach, CA.
The Senior Principal and/or Staff Program Cost Control Analyst will report to the Senior Manager of Finance and will be a key team member in the AMS & RISE Business Unit Controller’s Organization. The analyst will have a unique opportunity to support two business units with a broad portfolio ranging from major programs to NCTA, CRAD, and IWO efforts. The analyst will support financial reporting, budgetary analysis, and compliance efforts across the portfolio.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Set up cost control system, monitor and control costs and schedules on various CRAD Contracts, and clearly communicate with Business Unit and Program Office personnel
- Set up and maintain IWO agreement accounting and reporting; monitor cost, and clearly communicate with Business Unit and Program Office personnel
- Prepare and maintain spend plans; develop and review Estimates at Complete (EACs); incorporate changes into the monthly CFSR’s
- Perform analyses and prepare reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines
- Provide compliance guidance to the business unit teams on color of money determination, expense reporting and international business practices, in accordance with FAS, CAS, and NGC guidelines
- Assist Control Account Managers (CAMs) with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development and alignment; time-phasing of tasks; developing and documenting performance measurement; estimate to complete analysis and updates and variance analysis research and reporting
- Create financial charts in support of program management and program reviews; identify cost impacts and develop recovery plans as required
- Complete budget to actual reconciliations, budget change requests, and ensure proper accounting
- Maintain awareness of the program cost and schedule baselines, and incorporate contractual changes into the control systems
This position can be filled at either a level 4 or level 5 as outlined in the Basic Qualifications below.
Senior Principal (Level 4) Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years’ experience in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting to include Program Cost Control and Planning, or a Master’s Degree and 7 years of stated experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Working experience in Earned Value Management (EVMS)
- Top Secret (TS) Clearance or SCI Access
Staff (Level 5) Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 14 years’ experience in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting to include Program Cost Control and Planning, or a Master’s Degree and 12 years of stated experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Working experience in Earned Value Management (EVMS)
- Top Secret (TS) Clearance or SCI Access
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Working experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
- Experience with financial control concepts and principles to solve business issues
- Proficiency of the following systems or software: Micro-Frame Program Manager (MPM) or similar project management software, wInsight, SAP Management Project System Modules and Business Warehouse (BW)
- Department of Defense Top Secret Clearance or SCI Access
