The Joint Electronic Attack and Compatibility Office (JEACO) of the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWC-WD), Pt. Mugu CA has an open requisition for an RF Engineer.  The development work is for the Intrepid Tiger II (IT II) Family of Systems (FoS) Electronic Warfare (EW) pods that currently address communication threats.  The JEACO IT II FoS systems provide adaptable, distributed and networked electronic warfare capability for fixed wing and rotary wing USMC aircraft.  Intrepid Tiger II was the first deployed weapon system that was integrated with the EW Services Architecture (EWSA). The EWSA is a services-oriented architecture that enables the system to be dynamically controlled and re-tasked real time through a secure, tactical radio network. It provides the architecture framework and control interface enabling a common command and control and planning capability.
As an RF Engineer located in Pt. Mugu/Camarillo, CA you will research, design, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in with a minimum of 1 year experience in an RF related field.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Antenna design
  • Generate cabling diagrams
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of basic electrical engineering principles with relevant coursework
  • Related coursework and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Analog Design (systems, transmitters, receivers, antennas, testing)
  • Digital Design (printed circuit board, FPGA, microcontrollers)
  • Power supply design (linear and switching power supplies)
  • Knowledge of RF systems
  • Transmitters, receivers, communication systems, radio systems
  • power amps, LNA, splitters / combiners, etc.
  • Types, gain patterns, polarizations, etc.
  • Knowledge, ability, and understanding to use the following engineering test equipment
  • Spectrum Analyzer
  • Network Analyzer
  • Experience with Agile development environment
  • Experience with Git, Gradle, Maven, and Jenkins software tools
  • U.S. Secret or higher clearance
  • Experience with Atlassian software tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
