Northrop Grumman Mission Systems – Marine Systems (NGMS-MS) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Principal Mechanical Engineer to participate in the development and ongoing support of our trainer launcher hardware.

What You’ll get to Do:

Responsibilities can include but not limited to:

  • Participate in the resolution of technical and complex issues related to trainer hardware
  • Participate in the generation and revision of engineering drawings, reports, and procedures
  • Interface directly with customer and management to status activities
  • Coordinate planning and scheduling of major activities

Occasional domestic travel will be required.

This role can be filled at either level.

Basic Qualifications for Mechanical Engineer
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with Bachelor’s degree or zero (0) year experience with a Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Ability to plan tasks and execute to the established schedule
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD secret clearance

Basic Qualifications for Principal Mechanical Engineer

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with Bachelor’s degree or three (3) years’ experience with a Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Ability to plan tasks and execute to the established schedule
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently on projects with minimal lead or management oversight
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CAD modeling (NX, CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
  • Experience in ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 Dimensioning, Tolerancing, and Engineering Drawing Practices
  • Experience in executing projects in cross-functional matrix organization with other engineering disciplines
  • Experience in technical presentation and interfacing with customers
  • Experience in working with vendors and suppliers
  • An active DOD Secret clearance

Salary Range: 74200 - 111400
Salary Range 2: 92000 - 138000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
