LMDS has an opening for a Capture Manager-3 position to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is open to be filled at multiple locations at either our Northern Virginia, Chandler, Arizona, Los Angeles, California, or Huntsville, Alabama sites. We are seeking a qualified candidate excited to join our team developing a new space launch capability in the small to medium space launch market. This highly motivated, proactive and self-starting candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with our industry leading program team and innovative industry partners at the inception of the historic product launch of our Antares 330 and Medium-lift Launch Vehicle. This individual will develop and deploy a strategy leading new business capture efforts to sell launch services for our new Antares 330 and Medium-lift Launch Vehicles. The candidate will also lead new business capture efforts for our Pegasus and Minotaur vehicles, and operationally responsive space initiatives. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Understanding of the space launch marketplace and stakeholder customer organizations and budgets in order to identify market drivers and trends and develop strategies.
  • Capture activities for space launch programs including customer account management and growth, pipeline management and growth, and customer engagement.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with line of business management, strategy, business and finance, contracts and global supply chain, technology and engineering offices and functions.
  • Development and management of capture project funds, schedule, and execution.
  • Proposal development including managing process, writing proposal responses and developing pricing.
  • Simultaneously leading multiple opportunity pursuits and be capable of transitioning an opportunity from assessment through pursuit and contract award.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic qualifications are skills that all applicants must possess in order to be considered for the position. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
  • 9+ years' experience with customer management, strategic communications, capture, and/or business development.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a management/leadership role.
  • Knowledge and experience within the government, civil and space launch market.
  • Knowledge of the DoD acquisition processes.
  • Experience working within cross functional teams.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Broad, enterprise-wide view and understanding of strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred qualifications are possible skills, knowledge, abilities and competencies that candidates may or may not possess
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM), marketing, communications or business management.
  • MBA or MS degree in relevant field.
  • Proven experience with space launch capture and/or business development.
  • Strong business acumen and proven track record of providing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience leading and managing geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience in program planning, budget development and execution, contracting, workforce staffing, risk management, and the implementation of project processes and controls.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

Travel Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to travel in support of this role.  Estimated travel required 25% - 50% of the time depending on work location.

Salary Range: $147,700 USD - $221,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
