The selected candidate will lead a team of engineers in a dynamic mission-focused environment interacting with Customers, leaders, and technical staff to maintain and support an uninterrupted delivery of avionics resources that meet the needs of a diverse group of launch vehicle programs.  The successful candidate will apply their skills and knowledge of common manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve processes for adaptability and successful growth while working to minimize costs.

Reporting to the ADG EEE Components and Avionics Lifecycle Engineering Manager, the Avionics Lifecycle Manager is responsible for establishing and implementing strategic goals and objectives as applicable to ADG Engineering to support overall business objectives. This includes the tools, processes, and resources supporting launch vehicle avionics development and manufacturing.

This position is located in Chandler, AZ. This position requires the selected candidate to be on-site full-time. Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coach and develop a staff of 5-10 direct reports by providing an environment that encourages ongoing professional growth. Ensure that staff receives the appropriate training and skill development opportunities to be successful in their roles
  • Ensures projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and procedures
  • Optimize process changes; recommend use of technologies and processes to ensure alignment to division initiatives
  • Act as a resource to the department staff by providing guidance, interpretation, training and key input regarding operating procedures and processes
  • Perform performance appraisals
  • Address employee administrative activities
  • Support hiring including creating job requisitions, interviewing, and making hiring decisions
  • Work with Program Management to ensure programs are adequately and appropriately staffed
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Roles and responsibilities can often be expanded to accommodate changing business conditions
  • Serve as technical support for staff

Basic Qualifications:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 

Minimum of five (5) years of electrical engineering related experience.

Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance is desired, a current Secret Clearance is preferable.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven leadership experience on a technical project and/or team.

US Citizenship is required. 


Salary Range: $103,300 USD - $154,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
