Northrop Grumman Space Sector is searching for an experienced Principal Engineer Guidance, Navigation & Control to join the GNC Engineering Team within Launch Vehicles business unit located in Chandler, AZ. Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of launch, flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.

Basic Qualifications:  5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. BS degree in Aerospace,  Aeronautical, or Mechanical Eng with emphasis in Fluid Mechanics U.S. Citzenship is required Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required Industry experience in the following areas: 1. Aerodynamic modeling and delelopment for flight vehicles (6DOF aero models, aerodynamic flight loads, theoretical and empirical methodologies) 2. CFD experience (StarCCM, Fluent, Cart3D, or other industry code) 3. Wind Tunnel experience (planning and conducting wind tunnel testing, develop wind tunnel based aero models for use in simulations, etc)
