Corporate Director, Division Counsel – Launch & Missile Defense Systems Division

Northrop Grumman Space Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons; satellites and associated space components and services.  Northrop Grumman is seeking a Corporate Director, Division Counsel position supporting the company’s Space System Sector, and in particular its Launch & Missile Defense Systems division, headquartered in Chandler, Arizona. With a workforce of over 6000, the Launch & Missile Defense Systems division provides Government and commercial customers with an array of missile defense solutions, hypersonic and space launch vehicles, solid rocket motors, and other missile and launch products.  The division has major operations in Arizona, Alabama, Colorado, Utah and Virginia.  As a member of the legal leadership team for Space Systems, the Division Counsel serves as lead counsel for the Launch & Missile Systems division, assisting the business in the pursuit, capture, and execution of Government and commercial transactions.  Also, counsel either leads or supports the provision of legal counsel and solutions on a diverse range of matters including litigation, internal investigations, intellectual property, ethics, employment, and real estate. 

Basic Qualifications:

• Master's degree and 10 years of legal practice
• Significant experience in US government contracting
• JD from an ABA accredited law school
• Member of a State Bar
• A record of managing complex, high-value legal matters
• Experience supporting clients and business partners as counsel for the US Government, in house in the US defense and intelligence community or space community, or in private practice
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Ability and willingness to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

• An active U.S. DoD security clearance at the Secret level or higher. Eligible to obtain a U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance
