Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payloads and Ground Systems, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team of business development professionals.  The candidate may work in either of the following locations:
  • Chantilly, VA (preferred location)
  • Aurora, CO
  • Redondo Beach, CA
  • Baltimore, MD
The Business Development Manager will provide business development expertise, customer interfaces, capture leadership and strategy on ground development systems for space collection, processing and exploitation of mission solutions supporting both the Intelligence community and Department of Defense (DoD). This position will report directly to the Integrated National Systems Strategy and Business Development Director.
The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying customer markets, customer needs, cultivate new customer relationships resulting in identifying new business opportunities and then translate Northrop Grumman's (NG) capabilities and solutions into offerings resulting in new growth.   The successful candidate will increase NG's value proposition by building and managing a pipeline of opportunities, managing customer messaging and shaping plans, influencing internal investment decisions, serving as a capture manager at times and oversee others performing as capture managers, ensuring readiness for proposals, and supporting proposal development.     The position involves significant strategy development and implementation of strategic plans aligned to the Business unit goals. 

Ideal candidates for this position will be excellent at written and oral communications, possess a strong ability to establish and develop inter-personal relationships, have a substantial business development background, demonstrated strong leadership characteristic, and bring a combination of the following: ground processing expertise supporting the intelligence community and the tactical community; technology development; capture and proposal; and a history of working closely with the intelligence and the DoD tactical communities.  To learn more about our hiring process for manager positions, please view our “Selecting the Best Qualified Managers” video: http://www.northropgrumman.com/SQMVideoSQMVideo

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7 years’ experience in a combination of business development, program management, and/or technical leadership
  • 3 years' management experience
  • Strong understanding of the Intelligence Community and/or DoD acquisitions
  • Experience with development for space-related applications
  • Current and active Top Secret and SCI security clearances
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strategic planning development and execution
  • Strong customer domain knowledge (Space Intelligence Community & space related DoD programs)
  • Proven track record of business growth with the Space Intelligence Community and DoD programs across a broad range of customers
  • Experience supporting cross-business initiatives and/or programs
  • Experience leading and managing multi-disciplined teams
