Big Data / ETL Software Engineer (Unix Administration) TS/SCI with poly

Northrop Grumman is looking for a Big Data / ETL Engineer (UNIX Administration) to work in the Northern Virginia area. Exciting areas of responsibilities will include:

• Big Data Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) engineering and loading
• Unix file administration and storage management
• Application account management

Duties:

• Apply technical skills and experience in working with structured and unstructured data for ingest into a variety of applications.
• Monitor data loads and fix errors during the load process.
• Perform quality control on ingested data.
• Write/edit and test macros, scripts, parsers, and small programs to process, load or analyze data
• Perform configuration management before entering into production baseline.
• Provide daily logs and statistics, and output from utility tools; track and provide daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports and statistics/metrics; support COOP and emergency response activities.
• Work under general direction, independently determine approaches and develop innovative solutions to improve efficiency and quality of data loads.

CIMS

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in and 3 years of experience OR a Master’s degree and 1 year of experience. NOTE: degree can be substituted with 4 years’ of experience performing technical work
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data
• Demonstrated experience with computer file management in UNIX or Linux environment
• Experience with at least one scripting language (C Shell, Perl preferred)
• US Citizen with active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology
• Experience with script and/or parser development to extract structured and unstructured data from files
• Demonstrated ability to work in teams with a collaborative interpersonal style
• Ability to interact with various stakeholders to include senior management and customers
• Experience with account management including account creation & deletion
• Experience in the Intelligence Community
• Experience working in a Customer Facility
