The Electronics Engineer/ Principal Electronics Engineer  position requires a blend of Hardware and Software skills, experience with DC, Analog, Digital or RF test & measurement equipment, and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex electronic systems.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Researches, designs, develops, tests and identifies improvements / corrective actions for a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including RF and System Processors along with an assortment of test equipment and associated systems.
  • Having experience in programming in C++, National Instruments Labwindows/CVI and/or Labview is a plus.
  • Troubleshoot production hardware to determine root cause of failures and identify corrective actions
  • Support production floor and test technicians
  • Maintain process and procedures in accordance with ISO standards
  • Work with suppliers to resolve technical hardware issues
  • Hardware integration and test
  • Test equipment development
  • Design Automated Test Equipment to include creating Hardware and Software
  • Create engineering documentation (change notices, parts lists, bills of materials, test reports, test procedures)

Basic Qualifications for Electronics Engineer (Level 2)

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2 years’ experience; 0 years with Masters
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Mix of hardware and software skills
  • Experience with test & measurement equipment

Basic Qualifications Principal Electronics Engineer (Level 3):

You must satisfy one of the following education/experience criteria to be considered for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years’ experience or Master's degree in STEM with 3 years’ experience or Ph.D degree in STEM with 0 years’ experience
  • Mix of hardware and software skills
  • Experience with test & measurement equipment
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Test design and integration background
  • The ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics and block diagrams
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and guidance
  • Experience with LabWindows CVI, LabVIEW, C / C++ programming
  • TestStand programming
  • Experience with schematic design tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics, Zuken, etc.)
  • Proficiency with digital, analog, RF test equipment, RF theory and high speed digital design
  • Familiarity with differential digital interfaces like LVDS - PXI/PXIe and VME bus experience
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical hardware
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Active Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $106,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
