Northrop Grumman is seeking a Carpenter to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Charlottesville, VA. Put your years of experience into a future of excellence... The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Maintenance Team supporting a 300,000 square-foot light industrial plant in accordance with applicable building codes and corporate / federal / state safety regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Rough and finish carpentry utilizing tools of the trade to fabricate, repair and demolish walls, ceilings, doors and frames, floors and company furniture and fixtures
  • Prepare and clean, paint or stain walls, ceilings, doors, trim, floors and furniture
  • Prepare and pour small foundation and concrete pads, repair damaged CMU, brick, and mortar joints
  • Assist in spill prevention and clean-up activities for hazardous waste materials (training provided)
  • Assist in general maintenance of buildings and grounds, and snow team during winter months
  • Overtime is expected as a function of the Maintenance Department

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 – 3+ years additional education and/or related experience in the carpentry field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trade School Certificate in a carpentry field
  • 3 years’ work experience in a carpentry field
  • Rough-in, finish and repair plumbing
  • Mechanical equipment repair

Salary Range: $43,200 USD - $72,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
