Our Charlottesville, Virginia site has an immediate opening for a Part Time Assembler 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
  • Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Under little or no supervision, performs a variety of repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on mechanical, electrical/electronic assemblies including subassemblies such as wire harnesses, modules, printed circuit boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
  • Works from blueprints, operations sheets, and schematics.
  • Conducts continuity checks on work in process and completed work, may disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.
  • Full knowledge and complete acquaintance with an understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
  • No instructions needed on routine work and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.
  • When required will train lesser skilled employees.
  • Actively participates in process improvement discussion and shares best practices to improve overall team performance.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years of related experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and alternate work instructions for execution.
  • Detail oriented and organized, with good time-management skills and the ability to multi-task while prioritizing workload.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Obtains/maintains workmanship certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-J-STD-001 or NASA-STD-8739.4
  • SAP experience


Salary Range: $47,100 USD - $78,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
