The Capture and Proposal Manager will work with the Business Development team and the Account / Programme teams to shape new; and own existing opportunities; seeing these through the internal take-on-work processes, to win future work, supporting NG’s business goals and objectives.

The role will work across the Cyber and Intelligence Operating Unit (C&I OU), with access to the three established customer delivery structures.  They will be part of the wider NG National Security Solutions (NSS) Business Development (BD) team and report to the Strategic Captures BD Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and ownership of targeted captures identified either by customer or NG team leads.  Leads bids from triage to sign off to deliver on time responses to increase win rate
  • Management of internal resources in a matrix fashion to adhere to tight deadlines for proposal response submissions
  • Maintain and improve the existing take-on-work process to adapt to the customers’ demands
  • Grow customer relationships (alongside the relevant Account Manager) to develop the future of shaping new areas of business
  • Apply industry best practice for lessons learnt on how to improve win rates, using historical data, but also any new tools and techniques ensuring each bid is better than the last
  • Engages and leads with the customer on feedback sessions and/or working groups looking to develop and enhance existing or new capabilities
  • Contribute to the wider NG campaign to grow our UK workforce
  • Create bespoke BD reports pulling together what already exists from Salesforce, tailored to meet changing demands
  • Represent more senior BD team members for both internal and external reporting
  • Be responsible for demonstrating a measurable contribution to the Account AOP (target will be shared alongside the relevant Account Lead)
  • Develop effective collaborations with the NG ecosystem, alongside the NG subcontracts team, to ensure bid contributions are suitably framed and contextualised in a consistent manner with the overall theme of the submission

Desired Qualifications / Experience

  • Track record of strong stakeholder management skills akin to developing new business
  • Several years of experience of leading a bid team to deliver winning proposals
  • Ability to competently use bid tools or CRM pipeline tools (such as Salesforce)
  • Exposure to formal training such as Shipley (or similar)
  • Candidates must be willing and eligible to undertake UK government clearance in the future.

  • Strong desire to engage with others internally and externally, want to meet with new teams and new customers, across multiple locations where NG have a UK presence
  • Bring enthusiasm to bear with a degree of proactivity which motivates others to be successful
  • Have exceptional attention to detail, with strong organisational skills – be adept at managing multiple bids, where prioritising the teams time will be critical
  • Be decisive in compiling bid or no bid reports, and present to seniors
  • Have experience of leading others through the various stages of the bid cycle
  • Be highly competent at presenting information with current IT solutions
  • Relish the challenge of working in a fast paced environment where the pace of technological change needs to be communicated to a broader non-technical audience
