Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Manager 2 for its team at the Clearfield, Utah facility.

This position will lead Tooling and Facilities Engineers at the Clearfield facility and is ultimately responsible for meeting the technical solutions for all associated areas and programs.  The qualified candidate must be able to lead an engineering group to effectively meet plant requirements for safety and quality as well as the program requirements for cost and schedule.  Technical, project management, organizational and multi-tasking skills are strongly needed.

Job Description:

  • Proven project management background for large fabrication/construction-related efforts
  • Strong experience recruiting and managing a team of engineers across programs
  • Excellent problem solving skills are a must, and proven leadership of cross functional teams in resolving complex technical issues (product and processing equipment).
  • Sound financial understanding, including capital management and make/buy decision processes
  • Experience with machine tool-based manufacturing systems preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with solid rocket motor manufacturing and processing  


  • BS Degree in Engineering or a technical field, Engineering Degree preferred
  • 14 years’ experience in Tooling, Facilities, Process or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3 years’ experience in an Engineering Management or Lead role
  • Ability to quickly understand TE/FE project methodology
  • Working knowledge of CAD systems – IDEAS, NX and AutoCAD preferred
  • Strong Tooling or Facilities Engineering background highly desired
  • Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, and mentoring/coaching others in rapid problem solving and improvement.
  • Must have good communication and technical presentation skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Computer skills using MS software – Microsoft Project knowledge desired
  • Strong EVMS Skills desired
  • Supply Chain background and MBA degree a plus.

Salary Range: 112700 - 169100

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
